ABOUT EMI NAKAMURA
Emi Nakamura is the Chancellor’s Professor of Economics in the Berkeley Economics department. Her research focuses on monetary and fiscal policy, business cycles and macroeconomic measurement. She is a co-editor of the American Economic Review, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and co-director of the Monetary Economics program at the National Bureau of Economic Research. She serves on the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Economic Advisers and the American Economic Association Committee on National Statistics. She is a recipient of the John Bates Clark medal, the Elaine Bennett Research Prize, the NSF Career Grant, and the Sloan Research Fellowship. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and an A.B. from Princeton University, and taught at the Columbia economics department and business school before joining the Berkeley economics department in 2018.

東京大学経済学部は平成 31（2019）年4月に創立百周年を迎えました。私たちは、記念事業のひとつとして、本学部の財務的基盤をより強固なものとするために、平成29年2月より本学部卒業生、在学生の保護者、趣旨にご賛同いただける皆様、さらに広く経済界からご寄附を募って、東京大学経済学部創立百周年記念基金｢次の百年基金｣を設け広くご支援を募っております。（詳しくは、東京大学大学院経済学研究科・経済学部ホームページ「次の百年基金へのご寄附」URL https://www.e.u-tokyo.ac.jp/centenary.htmlをご覧下さい）。皆様のご理解・ご協力を心からお願いいたします。
私たちは、基金を学部・研究科の研究・教育・アーカイブの発展・整備のために有効に使わせていただくつもりですが、基金に基づく活動を学部内に閉じられたものではなく、卒業生や広く社会にも還元できる開かれたものにしたいと考えております。そこで、令和2年2月に第5回記念講演会を開催することにいたしました。

講師は、米カリフォルニア大学バークレー校のEmi Nakamura教授です。Emi Nakamura教授はマクロ経済学の分野における若手研究者のリーダーであり、40歳以下の米国の経済学者を対象とした「ジョン・ベーツ・クラーク賞」を2019年に受賞されました。今回の講演のタイトルは、"Is the Phillips Curve Getting Flatter?"であり、失業率が低下しても物価が上がらない現象に関する同教授の最新の研究成果をもとに、ご講演いただきます。講演に続き、同教授を囲んで日本の金融政策に関するパネルディスカッションを行います。パネリストは、Nakamura教授に加え、関根敏隆氏（日本銀行金融研究所長）、馬場直彦氏（ゴールドマン・サックス証券日本経済担当チーフエコノミスト）を予定しており、モデレータは、大学院経済学研究科長・経済学部長の渡辺努が務めさせていただきます。多くの皆様のお越しをお待ちしております。
