Dear all the graduate students

Important Notice: Postponing the Start Dates for Summer Semester 2011

The Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake has compelled us to change our academic schedules. The new schedules for the summer semester are as follows:

○ Mathematics review courses for incoming students in the master’s program Monday, May 2-Thursday, May 5, 2011 (provisional)

○ Admission Guidance Monday, May 9, 2011 1:30 p.m.- Classroom #1 on the B1 floor of Economics Research Bldg. (Also please attend Student Association Guidance scheduled for 0:30 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011 in the same venue. )

○ Class start date for summer semester Tuesday, May10, 2011

The course registration will also be rescheduled.  More details will be posted on the bulletin boards after the classes start.

If you are an incoming student in the master’s program/ the doctoral program or a holdover, and need a student identification card, you can obtain it at the Graduate School Office on and after April 1.  Unless you have an urgent need, however, please wait and obtain it on May 9 (Mon.).

Though the registration for incoming students in the master’s program and the doctoral program is scheduled for May 9 (Mon.), they are to officially become students of Graduate School of Economics beginning April 1 and are assigned their student numbers on April 1. (They can refer to their own student numbers at the Student Scholarship and Welfare Group or Graduate School Office when taking procedures that require their student numbers.)

* Please check the website of The University of Tokyo for Admission Ceremony for Graduate Schools.

Notes:
●The new start dates for summer semester, May 9 pertain only to Graduate School of Economics.  Please be advised that the due date for admission fees exemption and others may be earlier than May 9.

●We would like you to refrain from coming to the University of Tokyo unless you have inevitable reasons.  We also would like the students except incoming students in the master’s program/ the doctoral program to update their contact information to UT-mate including e-mail addresses/phone numbers so that we can reach you any time.

●If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Graduate School Office at 03-5841-5555.

Best wishes, and look forward to seeing you on May 9!
