Brief Biography
Professor Yamaguchi earned his PhD in 2006 at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was an assistant professor from 2006 to 2012 and an associate professor (with tenure) from 2012 to 2017 at McMaster University in Canada. He joined the graduate school of economics at the University of Tokyo in 2017.

Labor Economics, Economics of the Family
Research Theme
Professor Yamaguchi has expertise in empirical research in labor economics and economics of the family. Applying the structural estimation approach, he has written papers on job search, human capital formation, and gender wage gaps. He currently studies child development, women in the labor market, and public policies.
