The Finance Department aims to admit well-qualified students regardless of their area of studies during the two years in the College of Arts and Sciences at the Komaba campus.
The curriculum of the Department of Finance attaches great importance to the theoretical discipline of economics and accounting. It also places emphasis on the practically-oriented coursework developed in collaboration with financial institutions.
The objective of education in the Department of Finance is to create a talented group of graduates who have an outstanding analytical capability and conceptual power to apply knowledge of both theory and practice of finance and economics that they have learned in the Department to practical issues.
The Center for Advanced Research in Finance (CARF) provides analytic facilities with an extensive database for empirical studies. The students in the Department will be exposed to the Center's latest research outcomes in their coursework.
